The train was bright and cramped, rush hour filling it with people in business suits carrying pointy edged briefcases. Trying to get into the city at 7 o'clock perhaps wasn't the best strategy.
"Why are we up so early," Edmund groaned, shifting in his seat next to me.

A Lazy Sort of Love (Captain America x Reader)
A/N This day has been incredibly difficult for me with the election results in and I know that it can't be any easier for you lot. Because of that, I decided that we need something to remind us that love has always won and will continue to win. This is the time to unite in our mutually understanding of love, and to not forget that. Give love to someone today, maybe a friend or a coworker or even a stranger. Just remind them that love is here to stay. It's up to us now. So here's a sweet lil story featuring some Captain America love, both of which are so necessary now.

The studio apartment was silent, save for my tapping fingers on the keyboard and the city life outside. New York City could never be considered quiet exactly.

“What can I get for you, love?” the bartender inquired with a cheery smile.
I fixed a large grin on my face as I ordered my usual of a large chai tea latte for myself, and a green tea (no sugar) for Pepper, like she asked. Ignoring the money she had given me to cover it, I paid myself, then went to wait at the side.
The café I was in was on the ground floor of Stark Tower in New York City. It was designed as an ode to superheroes, appropriately titled ‘Café of Heroes’. Against one wall was a large painting depicting the actual height of various superheroes so little kids had the ability to compare themselves

Reunion (George Weasley x Reader)
My heart pumped irregularly as I stood in the crowded Room of Requirement. My eyes stared straight ahead as I watched the boy watch me. It had been nearly nine months since we had last talked and this was our reunion. There were no tears, no ‘I love yous’, no running. Just a lingering gaze and an on-coming war.
Harry was speaking now, explaining how we would fight and where we should be. He told us we were to go to the Great Hall where we would meet up with the rest of the students. Moving with the masses, I began to make my way to the exit. A hand on my wrist pulled me back.

Stiles’ last words echoed through my memory as I raced over to his house. When I said raced, I meant it literally- my car wouldn’t star so I was forced to go on foot. Luckily, he lived only a few blocks away.
I had just been getting into bed when Stiles had called, sounding like he was close to tears. When he had asked me to come over, I of course had said yes. Ever since the Nogitsune, he had been acting so different. He had been closed off. He was letting the guilt of everything he had done while possessed eat him up. Worst of all, he blamed himself for Alison’s death. He could hide it well enoug

“So far so good,” I heard Harry mutter in front of me.

My black leotard wasn't bunching into my silver skirt and my bun hadn't loosened at all. I was on fire.

I was pulled roughly into a plain room made purely of metal. It was empty aside from a large chair with leather straps hanging from the sides. Beside it was a small rolling table with an array of knives. My blood ran colder and I tried even harder to get away.

That's What You Get (Steve Rogers X Reader)
You were snuggling on the couch with your husband, you sitting in his lap and your 4 year-old daughter in yours. The three of you were watching a movie while buckets of rain fell outside. Your daughter couldn't stop squirming, she was always on the move, always ready for action. Just like her father. “Mommy pleeeaaassee!” She begged for the 276th time.
You sighed, defeated by a 4 year-old. Wouldn't Fury be proud. “Alright.” Your daughter bounced up and grasped your hand, not before Steve could sneak a kiss. She tugged you to the door way where you helped her get on her rain boots and jacket. “Come on!” She

And then on a night completely indistinguishable from all the ones that came before, rescue arrives.
As you follow your comrades out into fresh air, your first thought is of your boyfriend, the only person you have left in Gotham. And as the crowd shifts and clears a little, you spot him talking to the caped vigilante responsible for your renewed freedom.
Your heart in your throat, almost completely over

He’d never felt his twin hearts beat faster as they pounded in his chest cavity, knocking against his ribs. Every part of him hurt, every single part. He wanted to curl up on the floor of the TARDIS, to force out the overwhelming heat within his body. He wanted to scream. He wanted to die.
But, oh, how he wanted to live.
He deserved it, he managed to reason, though his stream of consciousness was shaky. He pulled at the levers of the TARDIS console, propelling him through time and space to the people he’d loved best. He deserved to break the rules. Not vindictively, not triumphantly, like the god he’d pretended to be. He d

Sleepy Studying (George Weasley x Reader)
She had fallen asleep. George had been glancing up at her every so often as she stayed up studying. Now, she had her head on the textbook in front of her as the soft light of the common room fire played on her peaceful face. Her hand loosely held the quill she’d been using, and every few moments, a drop of ink would drip off the end onto her sheet of parchment.
(y/n), like all other fifth years, had been working hard on studying for the OWLs. George always felt like she pushed herself too hard: staying up far too late at night and looking exhausted in the daytime.
Sitting a couple of tables away, George was easily able to view (y/n) as

"Why do you even like him?"
You sighed exasperatedly. Stiles had been nagging you about this for the past week and he refused to give it up until you gave him a valid answer (which you had, plenty of times, but he refused to listen).
"Really, Stiles, do we have to talk about this here? Right now?"
"Yes and yes," You rolled your eyes and pinched the bridge of your nose. Stiles grumbled as you both made your way through the crowded house, the bass of the loud music sending vibrations from the floor through to your spine as you pushed past sweaty bodies and over to the drinks table. "Seriously, what do you see in him?"
You stopped, causing S

He winced, jerking forward as the icy water ran down the back of his shirt.
She stepped away from him as he swiveled to face her, noting her sly, albeit shaky smile as she backed away slowly.
"All right, you asked for it!" He shouted, springing up from his chair and rushing towards her. She let out a squeak and fled, running as fast as she could. It wasn't fast enough however as his super soldier speed allowed him to catch her in

It had been weeks since the incident. Everything seemed to go back to normal on Baker Street.
Sherlock continued to be an annoying know-it-all. John kept on blogging. And you were often at 221B. It was more of a home than your actual flat.
Except for the nightmares. They never seemed to get better. Only worse and more vivid as time went on.
What if Sherlock didn't get to you in time?
What if the crazy man had the chance to keep you?
Would he have blown you up? Or, something much, much worse?
These were things the night terrors focused on. Picking out one of the fears of your mind and conjuring it up into a 'reality'.

A vague darkness has been hanging over you for the past few weeks. Dogging your steps as you go through your daily routine and you do not know whether it is because you have not heard from Sherlock (or John) or perhaps because of the fact that he sent you away in the first place (with noncommittal murmurs about a dangerous case and the importance of your research which you have forsaken for so long as he swept you up into his world). This strangely restless, disturbingly stifling calm that reminds you of a hot summer day brings with it the promise of something rotten.
Reading the newspapers has never been a habit of yours, and the television
